Mechanical Engineering Intern
Location: Sydney, Australia
Type: Internship (Unpaid / Paid depending on company)
Duration: 12 weeks
Schedule: 3 days per week
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our engineering team in designing, testing, and maintaining mechanical systems and components. This internship provides hands-on experience in mechanical design, project support, and engineering analysis within a professional and collaborative environment.
This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical exposure in mechanical engineering projects in Australia.
Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in designing, drafting, and testing mechanical components and systems.
• Support preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, reports, and project plans.
• Conduct calculations, simulations, and basic data analysis to support engineering decisions.
• Help with the assembly, maintenance, and testing of prototypes or machinery.
• Assist with quality control, safety inspections, and compliance checks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, design, and project management.
• Participate in project meetings and prepare summaries or reports for stakeholders.

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:

• Currently studying (or recently graduated in) Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Basic understanding of mechanical design, CAD, or manufacturing processes.
• Attention to detail, proactive, and willing to learn.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, or similar).
• Basic knowledge of Australian engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Experience with simulations or mechanical testing.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
