The Opportunity:
Join us as we open our new Preston community in Melbourne’s North. As Resident Service Manager, you will lead and inspire, ensure the highest standards of resident experience across the property, and oversee daily operations. You will play a key role in driving performance, operational excellence, and resident satisfaction, while championing community engagement and innovative initiatives that strengthen the WeAreLiving brand. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, operational experience, and a passion for delivering premium customer service in a property or community environment.
Your Impact
As Resident Service Manager, you will:
- Champion the Resident Community Engagement Plan, delivering a vibrant events schedule that maximises resident experience, satisfaction, and retention.
- Drive ancillary income by developing and implementing programs aligned with property demographics and resident needs (e.g., dog walking, in-room services, car detailing), ensuring income meets or exceeds budget targets.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager to deliver the annual marketing plan, supporting budgeted occupancy and brand positioning, as well as implement strategies and gather testimonials for marketing purposes.
- Oversee front-of-house and community operations, ensuring residents, prospective residents, and visitors receive outstanding service and support.
- Manage Move-In and Move-Out processes, including inductions, entry and exit condition reports, documentation, handovers, and arrears management to ensure resident accounts are accurate and up to date.
- Supervise property management activities, including issuing resident-related notices, conducting inspections, and coordinating with maintenance, security, cleaners, and other third-party contractors.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, company policies, privacy requirements, and workplace health & safety procedures.
- Maintain and enhance the property App, maximising resident engagement, satisfaction, and ancillary income opportunities
- Foster a friendly, supportive, and inclusive community environment, cultivating relationships with residents and local suppliers to enhance events and services.
About the Property: WeAreLiving – Preston Located just 10km from the Melbourne CBD and positioned on Time Out’s Best High Street in the World, We Are Living Preston is a design-led, amenity-rich BTR community. This 16-storey mixed-use development includes 292 residences, three retail spaces, and seven office suites, supported by:

About You You are a confident, approachable, and experienced leader with a strong background in property management or customer-facing roles. You have the skills to manage a team, oversee operations, and drive exceptional resident experiences.
You will bring:
- Property experience within residential, commercial, or retail property (or strong transferable experience)
- Leadership and team management experience
- Excellent customer service skills and a people-first approach
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and operational focus
- Familiarity with rental processes and legislation (or willingness to learn)
- Class 1 or Class 2 Licence to conduct Real Estate business in VIC preferred, Assistant Agent Certificate at a minimum
- Unrestricted Australian working rights
- Current National Police Check
- A positive mindset that inspires your team and residents
