Are you eager to land a brand new role as a Head of Building Safety and Compliance for an uk Council.

Position: Head of Building Safety and Compliance.
Location: Birmingham
Hourly Rate: £30.23 p/h (Umbrella)
Hours 37 per week.
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday - Friday / 9am - 5pm 
Duration: 3 months (Possible Extension)

About the Role:

My client is on an exciting journey to enhance the quality and safety of its housing stock, comprising approximately 28,000 properties. Following significant organizational changes, they are committed to modernizing their services and ensuring the safety of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead building safety and compliance for all residential properties.
• Manage a team of compliance officers, providing second-line assurance and addressing emerging risks.
• Drive service quality improvements and promote a strong performance culture.
• Develop and present detailed policy documents and reports.
• Oversee budgets and liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
• Stay updated on evolving legislation and technologies to mitigate risks.

About You:
We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and qualifications:

• Professional qualifications in key compliance areas.
• Extensive experience in property compliance within social housing.
• A proven track record of improving service quality and engaging with stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of local government processes, decision-making, and governance.
• Experience working in politically sensitive environments and managing strategic issues at a high level.
• Ability to navigate political processes and collaborate with elected members and boards effectively.
