Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Social Housing Provider, who are looking to recruit an experienced Defects Surveyor to join their team based in the North London area.

• PAY RATE: £47,205 - £52,450 Per Annum

JOB SUMMARY

As the Defect Surveyor you will work with both internal teams as well as key stakeholders in liaising with both warranty providers and contractors to rectify and manage latent defects.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:  

• Manage contractor performance on defects.
• Provide guidance and technical input on all latent defects.
• Conduct reviews of new schemes within the post defect liability period.
• Participate in internal reviews as well as assess solutions for new developments which are under design and construction.
• Work with contractors to deal with issues that arise through a major defects project and keep accurate records of rectification proposals and communications with contractors in order to ensure the defects identified are appropriately and robustly dealt with.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

• Experience of defects resolution and the construction process.
• Experience of delivering successful outcomes from negotiations with external and internal stakeholders, including residents.
• Comprehensive understanding of project management principles and risk analysis skills
