Role Purpose
The Principal Environmental & GHG Engineer is responsible for leading the delivery of environmental and carbon management services to external clients. The role provides senior technical leadership for carbon accounting, GHG verification, and environmental impact engagements, ensuring client projects comply with international standards (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol), CBAM methodologies, and applicable national regulations. This position supports clients in meeting regulatory, reporting, and decarbonization objectives while strengthening the organization's technical service offerings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelors in environmental engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Earth Sciences.
• 15 years of experience, at least 4 years in Energy audits, GHG accounting, carbon advisory, environmental engineering, and impact assessments.
• Proven experience with ISO 14064, LCA tools, GHG Protocol, and EIA regulatory frameworks.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and maintain strong client relationships.
• Preferably certified as:
• ISO 14064 Lead Verifier
• LCA practitioner
• Environmental Impact Assessment consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of client-facing projects involving GHG inventories, carbon footprints, life cycle assessments (LCAs), and emissions reduction strategies.
• Act as a technical expert for clients on ISO 14064, the GHG Protocol, IPCC guidelines, and EU CBAM methodologies.
• Provide senior technical oversight for client Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), environmental monitoring programs, and regulatory compliance activities.
• Review, validate, and approve technical deliverables prepared by junior engineers and analysts for external client submission.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and technical defensibility of environmental and carbon calculations provided to clients.
• Lead or support GHG verification and assurance engagements for client ESG and sustainability reports, as required.
• Advise clients on decarbonization pathways, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and CBAM obligations.
• Present technical findings and recommendations clearly to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
• Support accreditation and competency requirements related to external GHG verification and environmental consulting services.
• Prepare technical inputs, cost estimates, and scope definitions for tenders, and support the development of client proposals and bid submissions.
