DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION
The HSE Medical Coordinator supports the implementation of the Subsea7 Health Service and is tasked with ensuring that the medical facilities (where applicable), Occupational Health System including services and working environment are in accordance with Subsea7, applicable Clients, Flag State and country requirements.
He / She contributes to the development and implementation of processes, procedures, work methods and initiatives in support of Subsea7's, along with its applicable Client(s) overall Health Management strategies.
He / She is responsible for providing support, advice and guidance to designated areas of the business including Projects and to the function (HSE), as required.
All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ Culture within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local / legal HSEQ Codes and Practices along with applicable Client requirements.
All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity within Subsea7 and ensure familiarity and adherence to our 'Code of Conduct' and full understanding and compliance to our 'Values'.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads a positive HSE culture and behaviour across Subsea7 and particularly within their sphere of influence
Champions the Subsea7 Critical Safety Behaviours Programme, setting the tone and leading by example
Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE Policies, Processes and Procedures
Proactively engages with the team including Projects and Management including the workforce to ensure alignment of the business goals, strategies, objectives and targets
Ensures a professional effective and efficient response to routine health requirements of Subsea 7worksites
Advises Management on Occupational Health, Hygiene and Safety requirements based upon the applicable standards including Client specific requirements
Provides medical care and advise including emergency evacuation, medical treatment, occupational health surveillance and reporting
Where applicable, oversees the running of the health care facility
Ensure medical reporting and statistical information from worksites are filed appropriately and analysed / reported to Management, Clients, as required
Provides Occupational Health (and applicable Safety) training as required
Oversees Occupational Health and Hygiene including Welfare and Wellbeing related issues and maintains health and wellbeing surveillance programmes and working environment monitoring
Conducts relevant and regular health risk assessments, inspections and audits
Assists with preparation and execution of emergency drills and related trainings, as required
Interfaces with HSE representatives to coordinate local HSE services and provide necessary advice
Initiates Health related (including safety) improvement and Health / Wellbeing related awareness programs
Ensures HSE capitalises from Lessons Learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting Health & Safety and integrity consistently
Assists analyse budget costs and supports the team in preparation of annual budget submissions, as applicable (Liaison with External / 3rd Party Providers)
Assists and ensures all Project activities meet HSE regulatory requirements, Client's requirements, and Project specific HSE requirements
Assists and ensures the effective management and oversight of subcontractor / supplier management in line with overall relevant HSE requirements
Assists in the response to emergencies and HSE incidents including investigations
Assists with setting Key Performance Indicators and Objectives & Targets in line with the company and also its Clients, as applicable
Relevant previous experience (Minimum 5 Years) at an appropriate level ideally working within the HSE sector for Oil & Gas Marine Offshore Construction, etc.)
Ideally has previous Worksite Medic experience
Excellent Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, etc.) Skills
Possesses strong communication and coordination skills
Is a Team Player who works well under pressure and under minimum supervision
A 'self-starter' who has a strong passion for HSE
Passionate about continuous development including mentoring and coaching those within the team.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Regional experience working within the subsea offshore or related industry, some of which must be in a dedicated HSE Marine Offshore Oil & Gas Construction position
Regional experience with directly interfacing between Clients, Contractors, Suppliers, Project Team Members and the Workforce
Qualification
Degree / Academic Qualification in a Medical or Health related discipline
Membership of a recognized Health professional body;
Ideally hold relevant HSE Certification (NEBOSH, CSP, IOSH or equivalent)
Ideally hold relevant Lead Auditor Certification (ISO45001, ISO 14001)
Qualified Paramedic with advanced Basic Life Support, Disaster Management.
