We are looking for Functional Safety Engineer person should have good experience in Oil Gas Project

Job Title: Functional Safety Engineer 
Job Location - Qatar 

Industry: Oil & Gas / Petrochemical

Job Purpose To provide functional safety engineering expertise in the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and process safety frameworks, ensuring compliance with international standards and corporate safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate HAZOP / HAZID studies and other hazard identification workshops.
• Perform and validate SIL Determination and LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis) studies.
• Conduct and review risk assessments including QRA, FERA, and BowTie analysis.
• Ensure compliance with IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 functional safety standards.
• Develop and maintain Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS) for SIS.
• Support the design, verification, and validation of Safety Instrumented Systems.
• Develop and implement Safety Critical Elements (SCE) and Safety Critical Tasks (SCT).
• Contribute to Major Accident Hazard Management (MAHM) programs.
• Review engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with corporate and international standards (e.g., Shell, ADNOC standards where applicable).
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Interface with operations, maintenance, and project teams to ensure safety compliance throughout project lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)

Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Oil & Gas / Petrochemical industry
• At least 5–6 years in process safety / technical safety / loss prevention roles

Certifications (Preferred/Required):

• TÜV Functional Safety Engineer Certification
• NEBOSH (PSM or International Diploma)
• Certified HAZOP Leader
• IRCA Lead Auditor (ISO 45001 or ISO 9001)

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in SIL assessment & SIS lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience in LOPA and risk modeling tools
• In-depth knowledge of international safety standards
• Experience with SAP or related safety management systems
• Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
