Position: Mechanical Inspector
Location: Oman
Duration: 3 years
Leave Cycle: 3 months working and 1 month leave
 
 
Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct inspections and quality checks on mechanical systems, equipment, and welding processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
2. Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and welding procedures.
3. Perform inspections in accordance with PDO Standards/Specifications and ensure proper implementation.
4. Conduct Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as RT, UT, MT, and PT as per SNT-TC-1A standards.
5. Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation of findings.
6. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2008 quality management systems and other relevant standards.
7. Collaborate with project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure quality assurance.
8. Monitor and verify welding activities, including welder qualifications and welding procedure specifications.
9. Conduct API 510 inspections for pressure vessels and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
10. Ensure safety and quality standards are adhered to during all inspection activities.

 
Qualifications and Requirements:

1. Education:
   • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in welding inspection, OR
   • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience in welding inspection.
2. Experience:
   • Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing PDO Standards/Specifications.
3. Certifications (Mandatory):
   • CSWIP 3.1 (BS EN ISO 17637:2011) - TWI Certification.
   • AWS-CWI (AWS-QC1) - American Welding Society.
   • API-510 - API ICP Certification.
   • ASNT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT) - SNT-TC-1A Certification.
   • ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor (LA) - IRCA Certification.
4. Skills:
   • Strong knowledge of welding processes, inspection techniques, and NDT methods.
   • Familiarity with PDO Standards/Specifications.
   • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
   • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
   • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
