Job Position Research Assistant (Heritage Building) Work Location Wan Chai (with outdoor site inspections required) Working Hours Monday to Friday, 0900–1800 Job Duties
Conduct research and fieldwork on pre-1950 and post-1950 buildings in Hong Kong
Perform desktop research using archives, maps, building plans, and photos
Coordinate site visits and liaise with relevant parties
Undertake site inspections, photographic and video recording, and oral history interviews
Assist in drafting building appraisals and preparing presentation materials
Collaborate with videographers and support video editing
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Government Representative
Academic Requirement and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Architectural Conservation, Cultural Studies, Ethnography, Heritage Conservation, History, Humanities, Museum Studies, or equivalent
Chinese proficiency: Level 4+ in HKDSEE, Grade D+ in HKALE, Level 1+ in CRE
English proficiency: Level 5+ in HKDSEE, Grade C+ in HKALE/GCE A-Level, Level 2 in CRE
Must submit an English writing sample on a heritage site/building
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and bilingual word processing
Preference given to candidates with experience in historical research or heritage conservation
