Job title: Automation Technician
Reports to: Automation Engineering Manager
Team: Automation Engineering
Location: Bartlett, IL
Salary: $30- $40/ hr.
Travel requirements: up to 40%
Our client, a leading industrial automation solutions provider, is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to support the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced robotic systems and automated machinery.
This hands-on role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys working both in-house and at client sites, ensuring automation systems perform at peak efficiency.
What You’ll Do
System Installation & Commissioning
- Install, configure, and test robotic and automated systems per engineering specifications
- Provide on-site commissioning support at customer facilities
System Support & Maintenance
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on robotic and control systems
- Troubleshoot robotics, PLCs, and integrated automation equipment
Programming & Optimization
- Assist with programming, calibration, and system optimization
- Support robotic integration efforts across projects
Documentation & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate service records and update technical documentation
- Follow industrial safety standards and risk protocols
- Partner with engineers and project managers to execute automation projects
What We’re Looking For - Associate degree or technical certification in Robotics, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or related field
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with robotic systems in manufacturing or automation environments
- Experience with robotic integration, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Strong working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, and robotic platforms (Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa or similar)
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Mechanical aptitude (pneumatics, electrical systems)
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and risk assessments
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel

Compensation Salary is competitive and will be determined based on experience, technical expertise, and certifications.
