You're not here to change light bulbs.
This is a real maintenance role inside a major food processing facility supplying one of the largest retail chains in North America. The equipment is industrial. The challenges are real. And the people who thrive here are the ones who know how to diagnose a problem, pull the right tool, and get the line back up — without waiting to be told how.
If you've spent years getting your hands dirty in manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environments, you know how rare it is to find a place where your full skillset actually gets used. This is that place.
The compressed schedule is a genuine advantage. You'll work hard on your rotation — 12-hour days and nights — and then you'll have real stretches of time off to recover and live your life. No grinding five-day weeks. No nickle-and-diming your PTO.
The pay range of $21–$32/hour reflects real experience. If you're bringing the skills, you'll be compensated accordingly — not squeezed into the bottom of a band.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most maintenance jobs at this level either underutilize experienced techs or throw them into chaos without support. This one is different. You'll be working inside a structured operation with established PM programs, real work order systems, and leadership that understands what it takes to keep a facility running. You're not the only one keeping the lights on — but your contribution is valued and visible.
The scope here is broad: mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, welding, fabrication, HVAC — you'll draw on all of it. That kind of variety is hard to find, and it keeps the work interesting. You're also positioned close enough to leadership that your input on equipment and process improvements actually gets heard.
This is also an operation with genuine stability. The product being produced here — at scale, under contract with a national retailer — isn't going anywhere. That matters.
What You'll Be Doing
- Execute daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance to keep equipment ahead of failure, not behind it
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems — with limited supervision
- Install, modify, and remove equipment as production needs change
- Respond to plant emergencies (equipment malfunction, Haz-Mat, severe weather) and get things back on track fast
- Complete accurate work orders, maintenance logs, and checklists — documentation matters here
- Maintain safe, clean workstations and contribute to a culture of accountability
- Take on special projects assigned by maintenance leadership
What We're Looking For - High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience — machine maintenance, building systems, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a combination
- Demonstrated experience with pneumatics and hydraulics
- Basic welding and fabrication capability
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
- Competency with hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment — and the tools to do the job
- Valid driver's license
- Strong situational awareness, self-direction, and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Willingness to obtain LOTO certification (or existing certification)
