Industrial Maintenance Mechanic — Manufacturing (Night Shift)
Location: Kansas City, Missouri Area
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity Our client, a well-established manufacturing operation, is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to join their technical team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing complex processing and production equipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This is a hands-on position suited to a multi-skilled technician with strong electrical, mechanical, and welding capabilities who thrives in troubleshooting and preventative maintenance work.
This role requires availability for third shift and weekend work, with potential overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and air systems across production equipment
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions through visual inspection and operational testing
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery components
- Replace worn or defective parts using technical drawings and service documentation
- Perform pipe measurement, cutting, threading, and installation
- Conduct welding, brazing, and soldering repairs
- Realign and adjust mechanical components
- Modify or adjust computer-controlled equipment where required
- Test equipment following maintenance activities
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment
- Document maintenance activity and follow written and verbal instructions
Core Requirements
Welding - Proficiency in arc welding and heli-arc (TIG) welding
Electrical - Extensive experience with:
- 3-phase wiring
- Electrical controls
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Troubleshooting industrial systems
Refrigeration - Familiarity with industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
Additional Technical Exposure Experience working with or understanding:
- Boilers
- Refrigeration systems
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatic systems
- Industrial electrical systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and humid industrial environments
- Comfortable performing physical tasks including:
- Climbing
- Crawling
- Squatting
- Overhead work
- Ability to lift and maneuver tools and equipment
- Standard shifts are approximately 8.5 hours; overtime may be required
