Technical Sales Engineer - Derby
Location: Derby (Hybrid with regular travel across the region) Salary: £45,000-£50,000 per annum (depending on experience) + excellent benefits package
Hours: 39 per week (Mon-Thu 08:30-17:00, Fri 08:30-16:00) Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join their UK-wide Sales Team. This is a key role supporting industrial refrigeration and heating solution sales, primarily using natural refrigerants (ammonia and CO₂). You'll manage business development activities, build strong customer relationships, and support preliminary technical design and estimating.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers - Produce technical solutions and sales estimates aligned with customer requirements - Support tender submissions and project handover processes - Achieve annual sales margin targets - Undertake regular travel throughout the region and occasionally the wider UK/Ireland
About You Essential: - Proven experience in technical sales or business development within a related engineering/industrial sector - Strong technical understanding with excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload - Proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred: - Experience preparing technical drawings and calculations - Knowledge of refrigeration system design (synthetic or natural refrigerants) - Experience with equipment selection and estimating
