About the Role
A busy commercial garage near Ashford is seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician and MOT Tester to join their team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled mechanic who takes pride in delivering high-quality servicing and repairs.
You will be responsible for ensuring vehicles are safe and roadworthy, performing inspections and diagnostics, and supporting the workshop in maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MOT tests in line with legal requirements and company procedures
- Conduct vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs efficiently
- Use hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs
- Assist with vehicle handling and lifting as needed
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs
- Support colleagues with technical expertise and training
- Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or MOT Tester (minimum 3 years)
- Strong mechanical knowledge of multiple vehicle systems
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and team-oriented
- Relevant MOT certification/licence
- Full UK driving licence
- Fluent in English
- Eligible to work in the UK
