Design Manufacturing Engineer
Department: Programmes & Projects
Reporting to: Senior Design Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Design Manufacturing Engineer to support production engineering activities, including the design of jigs and fixtures, process improvement, and manufacturing support. This role plays a key part in enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and detail jigs and fixtures using 2D and 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor)
• Develop and maintain manufacturing routings
• Source and procure engineering components
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and liaise with cross-functional teams
• Contribute to factory layout design and continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyse manufacturing processes and implement improvement plans
• Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimise efficiency and reduce waste

Health, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with company Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Assess environmental and safety risks for new and existing processes
• Work safely and use appropriate PPE at all times
• Report incidents and support investigations to prevent recurrence

About You

• Experience with CAD (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production engineering
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments

Contract Details

• 3-month contract with potential to become permanent
• Pay rate: £30 - £35 per hour (PAYE)
