We are currently recruiting for Principal Accountant, on behalf of our client based in London. The contract for this position is on a temporary basis, initially for up to 4 Months.

PAY RATE: £300 a day Umbrella

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

To provide accurate and professional financial advice to decision makers, supporting strategic reviews and procurements.
To lead and manage complex financial returns, statutory returns, grants and other reimbursement claims.
Provide professional management to staff, strengthening skills and competence.
To co-ordinate and manage key financial processes for allocated areas.
To respond to Councillor, MP, Freedom of Information requests and other requests in connection with financial matters.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

Must have good knowledge of local government finance, relevant financial legislation, professional accountancy codes and financial best practice.
Must have experience working in the public sector.
Evidence of successfully leading key financial processes.
CCAB qualified accountant, or qualified Accounting Technician with significant relevant experience.
