Our client, a managed services provider in Western New York, is seeking a Systems Administrator (Execution - Projects & Microsoft 365) to join their team!
This is a hybrid/full-time/direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: $70K-$90K
Position Summary:
The Systems Administrator (Execution - Projects & Microsoft 365) is a hands-on technical execution role responsible for completing assigned project tasks across infrastructure, cloud, security, and collaboration platforms.
While this role supports all project types, it requires strong Microsoft 365 experience due to the organization's heavy focus on SharePoint migrations, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Intune, and Microsoft 365 security configurations.
The Systems Administrator executes work as assigned, assists within escalation layers when engaged, documents thoroughly, and escalates risks early. This role does not own solution architecture, project scoping, or service queues, but is trusted to execute complex work reliably across environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver assigned project tasks accurately and on schedule across all project types.
- Execute assigned project tasks across infrastructure, cloud, security, and collaboration platforms
- Support a wide range of projects including on-premises physical servers, remote desktop environments, SharePoint implementations and migrations, and network and virtualization project components.
- Follow established standards, procedures, and project plans
- Validate work before task completion
Microsoft 365 Execution Expertise - Execute advanced Microsoft 365 tasks including:
- SharePoint site architecture, permissions, and migrations
- Entra ID (Azure AD) user, group, and policy configurations
- Conditional Access and MFA enforcement
- Intune policies, device compliance, and enrollment
- Exchange Online and M365 security configurations
- Validate configurations for security, usability, and consistency
- Identify misconfigurations or gaps and escalate appropriately
Support the service escalation process by executing advanced technical remediation work. - Assist with escalated service issues when engaged by SDM or System Engineer
- Execute approved remediation steps within defined scope
- Document root cause and resolution steps clearly
- Escalate further when issues exceed authority or scope
Protect delivery through clear communication and boundary discipline: - Complete task-level and close-out documentation accurately
- Maintain clean tickets, notes, and artifacts
- Contribute to standard operating frameworks or templates when execution gaps are identified
Core Competencies - Technical Execution: Accurately executes complex technical tasks across multiple project types
- Microsoft 365 Proficiency: Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including SharePoint, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Intune
- Standards Discipline: Follows procedures and configurations consistently
- Documentation Accuracy: Produces clear, complete, and audit-ready documentation
- Judgment & Escalation: Knows when to proceed, when to pause, and when to escalate
- Communication: Communicates clearly, concisely, and professionally across teams
