Our client in Tonawanda, NY, is seeking a 1st & 2nd Shift CNC Machinist to join their team!
This is an on-site/ full-time/ direct-hire position.
Salary $25-$35/hr based on experience
Our client's CNC Machinists specialize in setting up and operating CNC or NC machines and machining centers. Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, numerical control (NC) machines and machining centers to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Studies drawings and specifications to determine the dimensions and tolerances of the finished workpiece.
- Follows a job router to determine the sequence of operations and set-up requirements.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials
- Calculates and programs controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow depth and angle of cut or enters commands to retrieve, edit, or input existing programs.
- Analyze and resolve any set-up non-conformance.
- Show a willingness to work through their attendance, and maintain an overall positive attitude.
- Adhere to the company's policies and procedures.
- Look for improvements regarding all aspects of Manufacturing.
Training and Experience: - Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
- Knowledge of various measuring tools, like micrometers and bore gauges.
- Familiarity with milling machines and tooling.
- Strong ability to fabricate parts with precision.
- Proficient in basic math calculations
Specific Competencies: - The employee must stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor.
- Exert 20 to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 lbs. of force frequently, and/or exert up to ten pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks
