We have partnered with a growing medical device manufacturer in Buffalo, NY looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer with a strong background in Automation and Advanced Manufacturing to their team! This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and enjoys leading complex technical projects from concept through implementation. The successful employee in this role will serve as a subject matter expert in automation, robotics, and process optimization while driving innovation and supporting high-quality production outcomes.
Full Time, Onsite, Direct Hire
Pay: Up to $95k depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an SME for multiple equipment platforms, leading troubleshooting, optimization, and new equipment onboarding.
- Lead automation and robotics initiatives, including scoping, integration, and technical adjustments to maximize performance.
- Utilize advanced data analysis to identify trends, optimize processes, and improve product quality and profitability.
- Design, document, and refine complex manufacturing processes with a focus on efficiency and repeatability.
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions for high-impact technical issues.
- Drive continuous improvement projects aligned with Tapecon's quality, cost, and performance goals.
- Champion innovation and support digital transformation initiatives across engineering and production teams.
- Manage customer-driven development projects, ensuring requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
- Independently manage complex engineering projects, ensuring milestones, documentation, and deliverables are completed on time.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
- 2-5 years of engineering experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Hands-on experience with industrial automation, robotics, PLCs, vision systems, or low-cost automation (Yaskawa experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, ISO/FDA requirements, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
