Job Title: Tenancy Officer
Type: Temporary - minimum of 6 weeks
Location: Bristol
Salary: £17.21 paye an hour + holiday pay
Hours: Full Time
BRC are working closely with a respected housing provider to recruit an experienced Tenancy Officer to join their Housing Team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced housing professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy management services, supporting residents to sustain their tenancies, and creating safe, well-maintained communities.
This role involves managing a designated patch of properties, delivering proactive tenancy management, tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB), supporting vulnerable tenants, and working closely with partner agencies to ensure positive outcomes for residents.
Duties:
- Manage a portfolio of tenancies, ensuring compliance with tenancy agreements and housing policies.
- Investigate and resolve anti-social behaviour (ASB), neighbour disputes, harassment and nuisance cases using early intervention and enforcement where appropriate.
- Carry out tenancy audits, estate inspections and property visits to maintain high neighbourhood standards.
- Support vulnerable residents by coordinating with internal teams and external agencies to help sustain tenancies.
- Manage tenancy matters including successions, abandonments, starter tenancy reviews and tenancy terminations.
- Work closely with legal teams and attend court where required to support tenancy enforcement action.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies including local authorities, police and support organisations.
- Monitor estate issues such as fly-tipping, graffiti, abandoned vehicles and environmental concerns, ensuring prompt action is taken.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all safeguarding, GDPR and housing legislation requirements are met.
- Provide excellent customer service, advice and guidance on housing-related matters to residents and stakeholders.
Requirements: - Experience working within social housing, tenancy management or a similar housing environment.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management and anti-social behaviour procedures.
- Experience managing complex tenancy and ASB cases.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with residents, contractors and partner agencies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience attending court or supporting legal proceedings is desirable.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
- Proficient IT skills and experience maintaining accurate case management records.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
