Whether you've already worked in a 2IC-style position or you're ready to grow into one, this role offers room to develop leadership skills and long-term experience.

About the Role

You'll work closely with the Farm Manager and support a team of three. This is a hands-on role where practical skill, initiative, and communication matter.

The business runs a mix of dryland cropping with a small area of supplementary irrigation, growing wheat, faba beans, chickpeas, cotton, and sorghum.

Experience with modern machinery is essential, especially in setting up planters and operating and running headers. This includes maintaining and looking after all farm equipment to keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing

• Maintaining and operating modern John Deere machinery
• Operating a John Deere and Hayes camera sprayer
• Setting up and running planters, including Boss and Janke 
• Operating harvest equipment and running headers during peak periods
• Using GreenStar GPS systems confidently
• Assisting with supervising and coordinating daily farm tasks
• Opportunity to gain dozer and excavator experience

We're Looking For

• Someone hands-on with a proactive approach
• Strong communicator who works well with others
• Confident, responsible and able to think ahead
• Good mechanical and technical ability, especially with planter setup
• Driver's licence required
