This position has become available due to an internal promotion within a well-established, family-owned farming and cattle business. Feedlot operations are a key part of the business, and you'll be joining a supportive, experienced team in a hands-on role.
Reporting to the Feedlot Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the feedlot, working across both operational and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support the livestock team across daily feedlot operations
Oversee animal health, arrivals, inductions, treatments, drafting and dispatch
Assist with bunk calling, feeding, batching and milling
Monitor and maintain stock water systems and site infrastructure
Coordinate machinery use and maintenance requirements
Ensure accurate record keeping across systems (Stockaid, FY3000, Feedbunk, Digi-Star)
Maintain compliance with NFAS, EPA and WHS requirements
About You:
Previous feedlot experience preferred but not essential
Knowledge and passion for high standards of animal welfare
Calm nature with excellent people skills in a hands-on environment
Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team
Ability to problem-solve and think on your feet
Experience with, or willingness to learn, feedlot software systems
Current driver's licence
