Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a local Council, who are looking for a Senior Finance Officer to join their team in North London. 

Position: Senior Finance Officer                 
Rate: £41,442 - £44,331     
Location: North London                      
Work Type: Permanent (Hybrid) 

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include: 

• Complete monthly CIS returns and VAT claims, ensuring accuracy checks and sample testing are taken seriously. 
• Monitor and report on financial controls. 
• Respond to VAT and HMRC queries. 
• Complete annual Statement of Accounts. 
• Liaise with internal and external auditors where required.  

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies: 

• Full or part CIMA or CCAB qualification (desirable). 
• Accountancy experience working for a local authority, NFP or public sector organisation. 
• Strong IT skills, particularly with finance systems and Microsoft packages. 
• Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
