Are you eager to land a brand new role? Our client, a busy local authority in Southwest England, are looking for an experienced HR Business Support Officer to join their team and play a crucial role in their Human Resources operations.  

Position: HR Business Support Officer
Rate: £22.50 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35)
Contract Duration: Temporary (June 2025) with Possible Extension 

Purpose:

• To assist and support the Director of Workforce and Change and Head of Human Resources to achieve the strategic priorities of the HR Service plan and budget monitoring requirements.
• Timely provision, preparation, monitoring and analysis of a range of financial information for the HR budgets as per the required financial deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake a variety of special projects (relating to facility move, ICT equipment roll out) that may involve internal and/or external research and delivery through the appropriate medium, and liaison with key stakeholders.
• Amend / manipulate / develop spreadsheets, databases, and other applications to update records and retrieve specific information and to produce HR operation compliance data and reports as requested by the Head of HR or other colleagues.
• To be responsible for responding to more complex escalated issues (resolution of contracts, debtors payments) from a wide range of sources (internal or external) either directly or by referral, taking responsibility for a resolution.

Job Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a local authority or a similar organisation.
• At least 1 year experience within a HR Business Support Officer role or equivalent.
• We are looking for someone with a relevant level 4 qualification e.g., NVQ level 4, diploma, degree etc and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and understanding through experience.        
• Experience of analysing, interpreting, and presenting financial management reports to audiences ranging from those with minimal financial expertise through to key decision makers.
• High standard of communication skills, evidenced by experiences of dealing with colleagues and clients at all levels to assess and resolve operational procedures both verbally and in a written format.
