Position: Pest Control Officer 
Location: Greenwich
Duration: 6 Months 
Rate: £24.28 per hour

Purpose of the Role: 

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Pest Control Officer to join the Environmental Health Team at my client. This role will report to the Pest Control Manager and is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of high-quality pest control services across the borough.

• Conduct surveys of individual and groups of properties to identify rodent or pest infestations, including testing of drains and sewers as required.
• Determine the appropriate treatment methods and carry out pest control activities to resolve infestations.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver pest control services to residential, commercial, and industrial premises.
• Coordinate effectively with repairs teams to ensure a joined-up approach to pest control service delivery.
• Ensure the appropriate and effective use of pest control materials and equipment in line with relevant regulations and specifications.
• Collect payments from customers for services rendered, issue receipts, and maintain accurate transaction records in line with council procedures.
• Undertake tracing, baiting, poisoning, and trapping of pests in accordance with current legislation, codes of practice, and technical guidance. Certify the successful treatment of infestations.
• Assist in the implementation of proofing measures against pigeons and rodents, including cleaning and removal of faecal matter.
• Collect, transport, clean, process, or dispose of items such as condemned food and other relevant materials as directed.

• Level 2 Certificate in Pest Control (awarded by the Royal Society of Public Health or an equivalent accredited body).
  Please note: Candidates without this qualification will not be considered.
• Full UK driving licence (must be valid for manual transmission vans). Your licence will be checked for any motoring offences.
