Position: Senior Project Manager(Construction Manager)
Rate: £40.00 p/hour
Location: Bristol 
Contract Duration: 2 years

Purpose:

• The Construction Manager will oversee and coordinate construction activities for the CRSTS projects in Bristol. The role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. The Construction Manager will manage site operations, schedules, and resources, taking an active role in project execution and coordination.
• The role requires close liaison with Project Managers (PMs) to ensure work is aligned with project schedules and construction plans. The Construction Manager will proactively communicate and resolve issues when delays in one project impact others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the CRSTS construction programme by
• Understanding final designs, surveys, and investigations
• Conducting site visits to ensure contractor compliance with specifications and schedules
• Working with the onsite NEC supervisor to ensure safe operations and reporting concerns.
• Liaising with statutory undertakers and other BCC departments to manage conflicts and coordinate delivery.
• Interpreting and communicating technical information to PMs, clients, stakeholders, and the public to ensure effective service delivery.
• Applying technical standards and specifications to implement cost-effective solutions.
• Work with the delivery team and highway network team to communicate progress, issues, and risks.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders and project teams to ensure timely project delivery and resolve competing priorities.

Job Requirements

• Experience in site supervision of highway construction projects including coordination and recourse management.
• Knowledge and experience in applying technical standards to highways and transport engineering projects.
• Understanding of health & safety and construction Deign & Management regulations.
• Project management skills in leading and supervising project teams.
• Experience in negotiating with statutory undertakers.
• Proficiently Microsoft 365 or equivalent business applications.
• Understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion in engineering project delivery.
• Ability to communicate complex information effectively, including public engagement.
