Role Brief:
As General Manager – Marketing (Essence Communities), you’ll lead the marketing strategy and execution for our Build-to-Rent (BTR) portfolio. You’ll drive strategies that raise occupancy, elevate brand visibility, and deliver outstanding financial results for our investors and client brands — all while owning and optimising our cutting-edge marketing technology stack.
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position where you’ll blend strategic vision with operational excellence. You’ll mentor a talented team, partner closely with Property and Executive leaders, and help position Essence Communities as the partner of choice in the BTR space.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the crafting and execution of dynamic marketing strategies that drive leasing success, resident retention, and revenue growth across our BTR assets.
- Work closely with the Essence Communities Senior Leadership Team ensuring value add and continuous improvement as we scale.
- Own the success of our MarTech ecosystem — ensuring seamless integration, powerful insights, and next-level personalisation.
- Lead, coach, and inspire the marketing team to deliver exceptional results.
- Build strong relationships with BTR clients and stakeholders while representing Essence in pitches and key forums.
- Deliver data-driven campaigns, brand storytelling, and innovative solutions that fuel our continued expansion.
What We’re Looking For: You are a strategic marketing leader with a demonstrated history of success in the property sector. You can easily combine flare with commercial acumen, operational excellence with balancing your time to support the growing demands of your team. You have:
- 10+ years in marketing with at least 5 years in a senior role focused on residential property, BTR, student accommodation, or similar.
- Deep expertise in marketing technology stacks (HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, automation tools, etc. and is comfortable discussing our technology with clients).
- A proven track record of driving occupancy and revenue through integrated marketing campaigns.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
- Success in driving high performing teams and providing exceptional people leadership, training and mentoring
- Passion for the living sector and a desire to create exceptional resident experiences.
- Unrestricted working rights in Australia & Valid National Police Check
