We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lifestyle Officer (Spiritual & Pastoral Care).
Role Overview As a Lifestyle Officer (Spiritual & Pastoral Care), you will be an integral member of our Care Team, responsible for providing spiritual, emotional, and psychological support to residents, their families, and our workforce. You will work closely with the Care Manager, Lifestyle Team Leader, and Volunteer Coordinator to deliver holistic care aligned with individual needs.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct holistic assessments of spiritual and pastoral care needs, involving residents and their representatives.
- Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, regularly evaluating their effectiveness.
- Coordinate the delivery of individual and group pastoral and spiritual care services, offering support during times of grief or loss.
- Facilitate religious practices and rituals according to residents' preferences.
- Coordinate leisure and lifestyle activities tailored to residents' interests and preferences, ensuring inclusivity and addressing cognitive impairments.
- Provide pastoral and spiritual guidance to the workforce, supporting their well-being.
- Promote a culture of spiritual care within the organization through education, mentoring, and training opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards, promptly reporting incidents and hazards.
What you will bring - Minimum one year of experience as a lifestyle coordinator in an aged care setting.
- Knowledge of Pastoral Care/Chaplaincy philosophy, theology, and practice.
- Cert IV Leisure and Lifestyle qualification
- Qualifications in clergical, chaplaincy, or pastoral care (desirable)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Hold NDIS Worker Checks (or willing to obtain)
- Be passionate about delivering a person-centred approach to care
