Seeking a Data Analyst with 4+ years of experience to join our team, delivering high-impact analytics, data visualizations, and decision-support products.
This role will work closely with our Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client to transform complex data into actionable insights that inform operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
The Data Analyst will support advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives by developing robust reporting solutions, enhancing data transparency, and enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with data engineers to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and structured for analytical use, including validation of data pipelines and outputs.
Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support mission and business objectives.
Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Perform exploratory data analysis, data profiling, and statistical analysis to assess data quality, completeness, and usability.
Validate and reconcile data across systems to ensure consistency and accuracy in reporting and downstream analytics.
Support the design and refinement of data models from an analytical perspective to optimize reporting and insight generation.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven insights tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
Leverage SQL and Python to query, manipulate, and analyze data across relational and cloud-based data platforms.
Assist in the development and validation of analytical datasets derived from ETL processes implemented by data engineering teams.
Identify opportunities to automate recurring analyses, reporting, and data validation tasks using scripting and analytical tools.
Support ad hoc analysis and time-sensitive data requests to inform operational decisions and leadership priorities.
Contribute to data governance efforts by promoting data standards, documentation, and proper data usage practices.
Present findings, insights, and recommendations through clear visualizations, written reports, and briefings.
Stay current with emerging trends in data analytics, visualization, and decision intelligence.
Perform other related duties as required to support the mission.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited institution in the United States
4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data visualization, and reporting, with demonstrated ability to deliver actionable insights
Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analyzing structured data across relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redshift)
Proficiency in Python for data analysis, data manipulation, and automation (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)
Demonstrated experience developing dashboards and reports using Tableau and/or Power BI, with a focus on usability and data storytelling
Experience performing exploratory data analysis, statistical analysis, and data validation to support decision-making
Ability to interpret and work with data pipelines and ETL outputs, partnering effectively with data engineers to ensure analytical readiness
Experience working with cloud-based data environments (e.g., AWS S3, RDS, Redshift) for data access and analysis
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analyses
Experience defining metrics, KPIs, and performance indicators aligned to business or mission outcomes
Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience supporting the full analytics lifecycle, including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, and delivery of insights
Familiarity with data governance, data quality frameworks, and best practices in regulated or federal environments is preferred.
Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development environments preferred.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.
NICE TO HAVES
Prior experience working with ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, or Airflow.
Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) and their integration into data pipelines.
Experience working in environments requiring DHS Suitability Clearance is highly preferred.
Strong knowledge of change management processes and technologies (e.g., GitHub).
Knowledge of federal data governance standards and compliance frameworks.
