Role: Mechanical / Electrical Technician / Shop Lead

Job Description:
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical / Electrical Technician who can contribute immediately in the shop environment, with opportunities for growth into a Shop Lead role for the right candidate.
This position is responsible for the assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of custom mechanical and electrical systems used in aerospace ground support equipment and industrial lifting applications.
We are open to candidates ranging from experienced technicians to proven shop leaders. Compensation and responsibilities will be aligned with experience, technical capabilities, and leadership background.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble custom aerospace GSE, lifting devices, fixtures, tooling, and industrial equipment.
- Perform mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, and system integration.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
- Conduct testing, inspections, and system validation.
- Support equipment installation and field service activities as required.
- Maintain quality standards, documentation, and safe work practices.
- Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams to improve products and processes.
Additional Responsibilities (Shop Lead Candidates)
- Coordinate daily shop activities and production priorities.
- Mentor and train technicians.
- Assist with scheduling, workflow management, and quality oversight.
- Support inventory, tooling, and shop organization.
- Work closely with company leadership to improve operational efficiency.
- Potential growth path into the Shop Manager role.
Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in industrial equipment assembly, manufacturing, maintenance, aerospace, automation, or related industries.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with electrical wiring and controls.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
Preferred:
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Experience with cranes, hoists, lifting equipment, custom machinery, or aerospace support equipment.
- Previous leadership or shop supervision experience.
