Target Salary: $85,000 - $110,000
Job Description:
Seeking a Mechanical Engineer / Designer / Drafter to support the design and development of custom aerospace ground support equipment (GSE), heavy lifting devices, material handling systems, and engineered tooling solutions.
This role will work directly with customers, fabrication teams, and company leadership to transform concepts into manufacturable products used by aerospace, defense, industrial, and heavy manufacturing customers.
Responsibilities:
- Design custom aerospace GSE, lifting fixtures, lifting devices, structural assemblies, and industrial tooling.
- Create 3D models and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Develop fabrication packages including BOMs, drawings, specifications, and assembly documentation.
- Perform mechanical and structural calculations for lifting applications.
- Support prototype development, testing, and product validation.
- Work directly with fabrication personnel to ensure designs are manufacturable.
- Collaborate with customers to develop custom-engineered solutions.
- Participate in project planning, estimating, and design reviews.
- Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience.
- Advanced SolidWorks proficiency.
- Experience creating manufacturing and fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of GD&T, materials, machining, welding, and fabrication processes.
Preferred:
- Experience designing aerospace GSE, lifting equipment, cranes, hoists, tooling, or material handling systems.
- Structural analysis and load calculation experience.
- Familiarity with ASME, OSHA, and lifting-device design standards.
- FEA experience.
- Customer-facing engineering experience.
Compensation:
Target Salary: $85,000 - $110,000
For candidates with direct experience designing aerospace GSE, lifting equipment, or heavy industrial machinery, compensation could range from $110,000 to $125,000+.
