Are you a qualified mechanic or an experienced bush mechanic who is organised, practical, and comfortable managing your own workshop while working in with a wider team? Do you communicate well and take pride in keeping things running smoothly?

A family-run feedlot and farming business in the Dalby District is seeking a mechanic to join the team. In this role, you will be based at your own small workshop and work independently day-to-day, while also coordinating closely with another qualified mechanic located a short distance away. Good communication and organisation are key to making this role work well.
 
What the Role Involves

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of farm, feedlot, and plant equipment. While you will handle your own workload, you will regularly liaise with the other mechanic to plan work, share knowledge, and support operations during busy periods.
This role suits someone who is self-motivated, well-organised, and comfortable working independently while still being part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair agricultural and plant equipment
• Run and organise a small workshop
• Fault finding, diagnostics, and general mechanical repairs
• Communicate and coordinate with the second mechanic nearby
• Plan and prioritise work to meet operational needs
• Maintain a safe, tidy, and functional workshop
• Follow workplace health and safety requirements
• Support the broader team during peak times

What We're Looking For

• Qualified mechanic or experienced bush mechanic
• Experience with agricultural machinery and plant equipment
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan your workload
• Clear communication skills and a team-minded approach
• Reliable, hands-on, and practical
• Full driver's licence

Ideal Candidate

You take pride in being organised, keeping your workshop running well, and communicating clearly with those around you. You are comfortable working independently day-to-day but value teamwork and support when needed. This is a full-time, long-term position.
