Laboratory Technician (Biology) – Hobart, TAS
About the Position
ALS Water operates several laboratories across Australia that are equipped with the latest in analytical technology. An exciting opportunity is available in a new premise at Tasmania – Hobart.
Currently seeking a Full-time Laboratory Technician (Biology) to join our valued team. This role is ideal for someone prepared to learn from the ground up and develop their skills within the role. Training will be provided and would suit someone with a genuine interest in Biology/Botany.
The duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Analysis of algae using a light microscope as a primary responsibility
- Dispatch of bottles and samples to Tasmania and Victoria.
- Sample Preparation.
- General laboratory housekeeping.
- Ensuring that the quality of work is maintained in accordance with QWIs.
- Meeting turn-around requirements.
- Adhering to all safety requirements.
About you The ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Light microscopy experience.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Works effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Shows attention to detail.
- A safety focus.
