- Reporting to the Logistics Manager
The role Warehouse Assistant NZ The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for:
Ensuring inventory is processed, organized, and stored. Comfortable working on their feet, focused on meeting urgent requirements, and manage inventory and databases.
The day to day
- Pick and pack to fulfill Consumable requirements to Labs
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs and coordinate with Supervisor
- Coordinate with the labs & Purchasing team to set up orders, and standing orders
- Stock movement of inventory and materials across facilities as required with a forklift.
- Coordinate with all transport companies for deliveries and pick ups
- Sort, organize, and store inventory in assigned locations
- Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisor
- Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory, unloading and loading trucks, and staging them in designated locations.
- Update data and documentation for inventory processing & follow up
- Prepare documentation and inventory data for audits & Conduct monthly stock takes, inventory audits and reports as required
- Matching receipts with invoices and delivery dockets
- Move materials from facilities, pick-up locations, or other locations
- Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles, making sure the store is kept clean and in compliance with the company HSE policy
- Work as an active team member to complete team goals
- Make sure the warehouse processes and procedures are followed
The Essentials - Valid forklift license (mandatory), full driver’s license, IATA & DG certification (desirable).
- 2+ years in warehouse roles (assistant, storeperson, or similar), including forklift and vehicle driving.
- High school diploma, trade certificate, or Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations (desirable).
- Ability to lift 20kg, stand, walk, squat, and climb during shifts.
- Proficiency in Excel, MS Suite, data entry, and familiarity with inventory software.
- Experience in warehouse operations, organization, and inventory management.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Adherence to health, safety, and operational procedures.
- Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and follow up effectively.
