Join Our Team as an Assistant Coordinator – St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care, Sunshine Beach

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Coordinator to join our supportive team at St Thomas More Outside School Hours Care, located on-site at St Thomas More Catholic Primary School — just minutes from the beautiful Sunshine Beach.
Our service provides high-quality before and after school care for up to 60 children in a fun, engaging, and nurturing environment.
This position is a full-time maternity leave contract for approximately 10 months (30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working split shifts across before and after school care sessions). Following the contract period, there is an opportunity for the successful candidate to continue with the service in a Casual Educator/Responsible Person role.
As Assistant Coordinator, you will support the Coordinator in the daily operations of the service while further developing your leadership and management skills within a collaborative and welcoming team environment.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Coordinator in the day-to-day management of the service, including:
- Assisting with program planning, delivery, and documentation
- Staff rostering and team support
- Administrative and financial management tasks, including fee processing
- Delivering a high-quality, inclusive educational program
- Creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for children
- Working collaboratively with educators, children, and families
- Participating in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Acting as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Coordinator
- Promoting the service within the local community in line with the Vision, Mission, and Values of Centacare Child Care Services
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Diploma in Children’s Services/Early Childhood Education or ACECQA-approved equivalent
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certifications
- Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, My Time Our Place Framework, and relevant legislation
- Experience working in education and care settings
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Effective computer skills, including childcare management software experience (Xplor preferred)
