Engineering Trades Australia are seeking experienced Leading Hands, Operators, Pipelayers, and Labourers to join a civil construction team delivering a landfill project in the Toowoomba region.

These roles are project-based from January onwards, with consistent hours and stable work.

Leading Hand

• Supervise and coordinate a small on-site crew
• Plan and oversee daily works across earthworks and civil construction activities
• Lead labourers, pipelayers, and operators to ensure safe and productive work
• Support pipelaying, HDPE welding, and geosynthetics installation (preferred but not essential)
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements

Operators

• Operate plant including excavators, Posi-tracks, telehandlers, and associated civil machinery
• Assist with bulk and detailed earthworks, trenching, and site preparation
• Work closely with pipelayers and labourers to support installation works
• Conduct pre-start checks and maintain equipment in safe working condition

Pipelayers

• Install stormwater, leachate, and drainage pipework
• Assist with trenching, bedding, laying, and backfilling operations
• Read and interpret plans and levels
• Support HDPE welding and landfill liner works where required (preferred but not essential)

Labourers

• General civil labouring duties across the site
• Assist operators and pipelayers with trenching, services, and groundworks
• Work with geosynthetics, liners, and landfill materials
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised worksite

Skills & Experience (All Roles)

• Previous experience in civil construction or earthworks
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, 6:30am – 5:00pm, with potential Saturday work
• White Card required (relevant tickets/licenses for operators essential)
