La Bufala is an Italian restaurant in Mascot known for its wood-fired pizzas, handmade gnocchi and classic Italian dishes. We are looking for a Chef to help plan and deliver a consistent, high-quality dining experience across our à la carte and function menus.

The right applicant will be responsible for:

• Plan and prepare dishes in line with La Bufala’s menu and quality standards.
• Contribute to menu development, daily specials and function menus.
• Prepare and cook pasta, gnocchi, sauces, meat, seafood and other menu items.
• Oversee food preparation and presentation during service.
• Coordinate kitchen staff to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.
• Monitor ingredient quality, stock levels, ordering and food wastage.
• Maintain portion control and assist in managing food costs.
• Train and guide kitchen staff in preparation methods and presentation standards.
• Ensure kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and properly maintained.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

About you:

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Chef;
• Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine and kitchen operations;
• Ability to plan menus and maintain consistent food quality;
• Experience coordinating kitchen staff during busy services;
• Good organisational, communication and food safety skills.

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year
