Il Camino is an Italian restaurant in Adelaide offering authentic Italian cuisine, with a focus on handcrafted wood-fired pizzas and dishes prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant provides dine-in, takeaway and delivery services.

Il Camino is currently seeking an experienced Cook for a permanent full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Italian dishes, maintaining consistent standards of food quality and presentation, and contributing to the efficient daily operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and cooking a range of Italian dishes in accordance with established recipes and menu requirements.
• Preparing, measuring and portioning ingredients for daily food preparation.
• Preparing and cooking menu items, including pizzas and other Italian dishes.
• Monitoring food quality, freshness, cooking times and presentation standards.
• Operating ovens, grills and other kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
• Checking ingredient quality and ensuring appropriate food storage and stock rotation.
• Monitoring ingredient usage and minimising food wastage.
• Coordinating with kitchen staff to maintain efficient food preparation and service.
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

About You

• At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Cook or in a similar commercial kitchen role.
• Good knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Experience preparing and cooking Italian dishes, including pizzas.
• Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards.
