 Heavy Civil construction company is seeking an experienced P6 Scheduler to support its continued growth in the Charlotte market.

 The Scheduler will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and analyzing construction schedules for heavy civil projects, working closely with Project Managers and operations teams.

This is a hands-on scheduling role requiring the ability to build a baseline schedule directly from drawings, with a strong understanding of constructability—not just data entry into Primavera P6.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed baseline and update schedules using Primavera P6.
• Take a full set of construction drawings and independently build a logical, constructible baseline schedule.
• Analyze schedule performance, identify risks, delays, and impacts, and recommend recovery strategies.
• Lead and participate in scheduling discussions with Project Managers and operations teams.
• Perform monthly schedule updates and prepare detailed schedule narratives.
• Write clear, concise narratives explaining variances, delays, constraints, and mitigation plans.
• Support Project Managers by translating operational input into accurate P6 schedules.
• Prepare schedule reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders and clients.
• Ensure schedules comply with company standards and client requirements.
• Occasionally travel to project sites as needed (using a pool vehicle or personal truck with reimbursed expenses).

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency with Primavera P6.
• Proven experience scheduling heavy civil construction projects (highways, bridges, utilities, earthwork, etc.).
  • Oil & gas experience alone will not be considered sufficient.
• Experience working with a similar heavy civil General Contractor.
• Ability to understand plans, specs, and sequencing from a constructability standpoint.
• Demonstrated experience writing professional schedule narratives.
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Degree not required.

 
Compensation & Benefits

• Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000+ (flexible depending on experience).
