Our client is hiring a Senior Project Engineer  to support a large heavy civil maintenance project in Amarillo, TX. This is a site-based role, and the successful candidate will be expected to relocate to Amarillo for the duration of the project.
You’ll work closely with a Senior Project Manager who is overseeing the project and traveling between locations. This role is well suited to someone who enjoys being close to the work, operating out of a field office, and supporting active construction operations.
  
Project Overview

• Heavy civil maintenance program
• Roadway overlays
• Bridge repairs and rehabilitation
• General infrastructure maintenance
• On-site field office
• Primarily day work, with occasional night or weekend shifts as required

  
What You’ll Be Doing

• Support the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day project execution
• Assist with scheduling, planning, and coordination of work activities
• Track quantities, production, costs, and overall project progress
• Coordinate subcontractors and manage field activities
• Review plans, specifications, and project documentation
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications
• Ensure work complies with safety standards, quality requirements, and DOT specifications
• Coordinate with inspectors, owners, and other stakeholders
• Support night and weekend work as project needs require

  
What We’re Looking For

• Minimum of 5+ years of construction experience
• Strong heavy civil construction background
• Bridge construction or bridge maintenance experience strongly preferred
• DOT project experience preferred
• Experience working in a field-based role
• Willingness and ability to relocate to Amarillo for approximately 18 months
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
