A growing public accounting firm supporting real estate industry clients and small businesses is seeking a motivated Tax and Accounting Associate to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants hands-on experience in a professional accounting firm environment while working directly with clients and supporting tax and accounting functions.
The ideal candidate is independent, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a remote setting. This person should be able to communicate professionally, participate in virtual client meetings, manage assigned work with accountability, and support the firm's commitment to high-quality client service.
Responsibilities
Assist with tax preparation and accounting support for individuals, small businesses, and real estate-related clients
Support the preparation and organization of tax documents and client financial information
Assist with individual, business, trust, and related tax filings
Participate in virtual client meetings and communicate professionally with clients
Review client documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper organization
Maintain organized records and follow internal deadlines and workflows
Support accounting, bookkeeping, and tax-related projects as assigned
Use tax, accounting, and productivity tools to complete work efficiently
Communicate proactively with the team regarding pending items, client needs, and project updates
Work independently in a remote environment while maintaining professionalism and reliability
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, Taxation, or a related field preferred
2+ years of tax, accounting, bookkeeping, or public accounting support experience preferred
Exposure to individual and/or business tax preparation preferred
Experience with 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 1041, and related tax forms is a plus
Professional English communication skills required
Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
Comfortable participating in virtual client meetings
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with limited supervision
Motivated, proactive, reliable, and client-service oriented
Experience with tax software, Google Workspace, Asana, or similar tools is a plus
