Payroll Specialist - Hospitality Industry

Location: Denver, CO (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Business Hours
Pay: $25/hour
Type: Temporary with Potential for Permanent Hire

About the Role
Join a leading national hospitality organization as a Payroll Specialist supporting high-volume payroll operations. This role is ideal for someone with strong payroll experience, advanced Excel skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Experience with restaurant, hospitality, or tipped employee payroll is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time.
• Reconcile and balance payroll accounts on a daily basis.
• Review timesheets and shift reports to ensure accuracy.
• Perform basic payroll adjustments and uploads into the system.
• Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly.
• Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to support audit and compliance requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and adhere to internal policies.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in payroll, preferably as a Payroll Specialist or advanced Payroll Coordinator.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience handling tips in a hospitality or restaurant environment
• Strong understanding of payroll principles and legal compliance.
• Knowledge 
• Familiarity with Paylocity is preferred (training will be provided if not experienced).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
