Role: Web Developer (CBP PAMS contract).
Location: Ashburn, VA (2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
 
Seeking an experienced Application and Web Developer to become part of our diverse Agile team, providing education and training support to Customs and Border Protection (CBP) using automated systems to keep travelers and officers safe.

This position will support the agency's mission of providing critical safety and security for travelers entering and exiting the United States.

Required Experience/Skills:

US Citizenship required (Active CBP clearance preferred, MUST have DHS Public Trust or Top Secret)

• Ability to pass a background investigation and obtain Public Trust Clearance.
• Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar program. 
• Excellent Communication skills with the ability to collaborate and share insights with team members and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving, testing, and the ability to adapt to new technologies while maintaining security updates and performance optimization.
• Proven experience with Chatbot Development tools.
• Advanced experience with static and dynamic websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (front-end development)
• Work independently as a member of a cross-functional team of Instructional Designers, graphic designers, and UX designers.
• 4+ years of experience with frontend frameworks such as Angular and React.
• Experience and skill in open-source software and Agile software development methodology are essential.
• Experience with VS Code.
• Knowledge of AWS cloud management.
• Strong experience with code versioning and production release using Gitlab/Github or WinSCP
• 508 compliance testing and development knowledge.
• HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge in Angular, React, or similar technologies.
• Willing to jump in and make recommendations for improvements and be proactive when seeing roadblocks or inefficient processes.
• Be a team player.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in containerization and cloud hosting with Amazon Cloud Services.
• Experience using the ANDI Toolbar.
• Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning (ML), and robotic process automation (RPA) that can potentially improve operations.
• Experience with CBP Applications and software.
• Working knowledge of the US Web Design system or a similar design system for implementing re-usable components.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the design of software tools and subsystems to support reuse and domain analysis.
• Assist Instructional Designers and the client to interpret software requirements and design specifications to code, integrate, and test software components.
• Actively participate in Scrum meetings.
• Maintain full compliance with the cybersecurity, privacy, Section 508 accessibility, and enterprise architecture.
