We are seeking an experienced and motivated Farm Hand to join a well-established, family-owned and operated farming enterprise in the Western Downs region, just outside Dalby, Queensland.

This is a genuine long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about agriculture and wants to be part of a progressive operation where they can contribute, learn and build a career. We're looking for someone who sees farming as more than just a job and takes pride in their work.

The business operates a predominantly dryland cropping program with some irrigation country, growing wheat, barley, oats, chickpeas, sorghum, corn and cotton. Most farming operations are completed in-house, with contractors brought in for cotton picking.

While this role sits within the farming team, the broader business also operates a feedlot, breeding herd and backgrounding program, making it a large and diverse agricultural enterprise.

You'll be working with modern machinery, including a fleet of Generation 4 and Generation 5 John Deere equipment.

The Role Duties will vary throughout the year and may include:

• Ground preparation and planting
• Spraying and crop management
• Irrigation duties
• Harvest operations
• Operating modern agricultural machinery
• General farm maintenance
• Machinery servicing and preventative maintenance
• Welding and fabrication work
• Workshop and shed maintenance
• Supporting day-to-day farming operations as required

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous broadacre farming experience
• Experience operating modern agricultural machinery
• Mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
• Welding experience
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A current driver's licence
• Contactable work references
• Good physical fitness
• A genuine passion for farming and agriculture
