Hands-On Leadership | Great Crew | Quality Gear | Accommodation Available
I've had plenty of applications for this role, but I haven't found the right fit yet. And having been out to the property myself, I genuinely think this is too good an opportunity to compromise on the person.
These are good, down-to-earth operators with a great crew around them, good gear and a growing family-run operation.
What they really need is someone who can lead from the front. Someone who is hands-on, can organise the day-to-day operation, work alongside the crew and, importantly, train, develop and bring people along with them.
There is a lot to like about this job. We just need to find the right person for it.
THE ROLE
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of the feedlot and property operations, working closely with the owners and existing team.
This is a genuinely hands-on management position. You'll lead and coordinate the crew, but you'll also be out there with them when required.
A big part of the role is developing people. They need someone who can teach, set expectations, maintain standards and help less experienced team members build their skills and confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and coordinating daily feedlot and property activities
- Leading from the front and working alongside the crew
- Training, mentoring and developing staff
- Keeping cattle and feeding routines on track
- Ensuring jobs are completed properly and on time
- Coordinating contractors when required
- Maintaining high standards across the feedlot, property and equipment
- Keeping communication flowing between the owners and team
- Maintaining safety, compliance and operational standards
ABOUT YOU We're looking for someone who is
good with both livestock and people.
You'll need previous feedlot, livestock or farming management experience, along with the confidence to take ownership of the day-to-day operation.
You'll also bring:
- Proven experience leading and coordinating staff
- The ability and willingness to train and develop people
- Strong livestock and operational knowledge
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Good organisation, communication and time management skills
- Initiative and confidence in making day-to-day decisions
- A current driver's licence
- Additional licences and tickets will be well regarded
- Experience with Livestock Junction would be highly regarded
THE PACKAGE & ACCOMMODATION An
attractive salary package will be negotiated based on skills and experience, with interim accommodation available now.
There's interim accommodation available now, and from March 2027, an impressive, established family home with a pool, tennis court, and established gardens will become available.
WHY THIS ONE?
I've been there. I've met the family, seen the operation and met the people you'll be working with.
It's a good job.
There's a great crew already in place, good gear to work with and owners who are approachable, involved and genuinely want someone who can become an important part of the operation.
They're growing, which is why this position has been created. They don't need someone to come in and reinvent everything. They need an experienced, hands-on person who can
lead the operation, develop the people around them and grow with the business.
We've had plenty of interest.
Now it's about finding the right fit.
