Weekend Event Grounds & Waste Management Crew Needed – Courtland, ON
We're looking for two dependable, hands-on people to join our event grounds crew for a weekend event in Courtland, Ontario. You'll be the reason the site stays clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone who walks through it — and you'll get to see the direct impact of your work in real time, all weekend long.
This is a short, self-contained gig: two shifts, one weekend, done. No long-term commitment, no complicated onboarding beyond the basics, and a pay rate that makes it genuinely worth your time. Whether you're looking to pick up extra weekend income, want to break into event work, or just enjoy being active and outdoors, this is a great way to get started.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
This isn't a long, drawn-out seasonal contract — it's a clearly defined, two-day commitment with straightforward expectations and solid pay. You'll work as part of a small, focused crew alongside an Event Operations Lead who's there to support you on-site, not just supervise from a distance. It's low barrier to entry, physically active, and a genuinely good way to build event experience you can carry into future opportunities with us.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping the event grounds clean and presentable for guests and staff throughout the weekend
- Picking up litter and trash from participant areas, walkways, and common spaces
- Emptying and replacing garbage bags, and returning bins to their proper spots
- Watching bin levels across the site and servicing them before they overflow, especially during busy stretches
- Flagging spills, damaged bins, or safety concerns to the on-site supervisor right away
- Pitching in on general site tidying wherever the team needs a hand
What We're Looking For - Comfortable being on your feet, walking, bending, and lifting for a full 8-hour shift
- Able to lift and carry filled garbage bags to a dumpster throughout the day
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to commit to both full shift days
- A positive, professional attitude around event guests and staff
- Previous cleaning, janitorial, or event/grounds experience is a bonus, but not required
- Own closed-toe footwear and weather-appropriate clothing
Compensation & Work Model $22.00 per hour, paid by bank transfer. This is an onsite, outdoor role. Shifts run 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both event days.
Location & Travel Courtland, Ontario (N0J 1E0). This is a single-site event with no travel required beyond getting to the event grounds.
