Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Nights & Days Available – Kelowna, BC
If you're an LPN who's tired of feeling like a number on a hospital floor, this one's worth a look. You'd be joining a long-term and complex care community in Kelowna, BC that's built its care model around small, home-like neighbourhoods rather than an institutional layout — meaning you get to actually know the residents you're caring for, day in and day out.
This isn't a sink-or-swim solo assignment either. You'll be working inside a real interdisciplinary team — an RN Care Leader, fellow LPNs, Health Care Aides, and allied health professionals like OT, PT, and Recreation Therapy — all focused on the same residents, all pulling in the same direction.
Two positions are open right now: a full-time night line and a part-time day line, both on a rotating 3-on/2-off/3-on/3-off schedule that gives you genuinely predictable stretches of time off.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
Most LPN postings read the same. This one's different because the care model is different — small neighbourhoods instead of a big hospital-style unit, which means more continuity with residents and less feeling like you're on an assembly line. You'll have direct access to an RN Care Leader for support and escalation, real exposure to complex and unpredictable medical needs (not routine, low-acuity care), and a wage that's scaled to reflect your actual years of experience rather than a flat new-grad rate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing direct nursing care to residents with complex care needs as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Administering medications and treatments in line with care plans and your BCCNM scope of practice
- Supporting residents with daily living activities, including morning/evening routines, bathing, and mealtime assistance
- Monitoring and documenting resident health status, and escalating changes in condition to the RN Care Leader
- Contributing to a home-like, resident-centred care environment within your care neighbourhood
What We're Looking For - Diploma in Practical Nursing (or equivalent) meeting BCCNM eligibility requirements
- Active BCCNM registration in good standing
- Active First Aid and BLS certifications
- Comfort working within an interdisciplinary care team
- Adaptability to rotating night or day shift patterns
- Open to all experience levels — a compassionate, team-oriented approach matters as much as tenure
Compensation & Work Model $32.84–$41.35/hour, based on years of experience, per the BC Wage Guide. Onsite — Kelowna, BC. Full-time (nights) and part-time (days) positions available, both on a rotating 3 on / 2 off / 3 on / 3 off schedule.
Location & Travel Onsite in Kelowna, BC. No travel requirements identified in the job description.
