Private Household
A private ultra-high-net-worth family with residences on Long Island is seeking a seasoned, highly discreet Family / Household Manager to oversee the comprehensive operations of their primary Locust Valley estate, with coordination support for additional properties as needed.
This role requires a polished, service-driven professional with exceptional judgment and the ability to operate at a senior level within a complex private household. The Family / Household Manager will function as the central authority for household operations, family logistics, staff oversight, and systems management—ensuring the estate runs seamlessly, efficiently, and to the highest standard at all times.
Role Overview
The Family / Household Manager is responsible for the strategic and hands-on management of all household and family operations. This includes oversight of staff and vendors, scheduling and logistics, systems development, financial coordination, and the planning and execution of events, travel, and seasonal transitions. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and deeply experienced in UHNW environments, with the discretion and adaptability required to anticipate needs and manage shifting priorities with ease.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee all day-to-day operations of the Locust Valley residence, maintaining a highly organized, service-forward, and impeccably run household
• Manage and lead household staff, ensuring clear communication, performance standards, scheduling, and continuity of service
• Serve as the primary liaison for all vendors, contractors, and service providers, overseeing maintenance, repairs, capital projects, and ongoing estate needs
• Develop, implement, and maintain household systems, manuals, inventories, calendars, and operational protocols
• Coordinate all family logistics, travel, including schedules, appointments, school-related needs, activities, travel preparation, and special projects
• Plan and execute private events, family gatherings, holidays, and seasonal décor, including installation, breakdown, storage, and rotation
• Track household-related expenses, manage vendor invoices, and collaborate with financial and advisory teams as appropriate
• Oversee storage and long-term organizational systems, including seasonal items, personal archives, and estate inventories
• Anticipate operational and family needs, proactively identifying improvements and implementing systems to enhance efficiency, privacy, and overall household flow

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in household, estate, or family management, or senior-level private PA/EA roles supporting UHNW principals
• Demonstrated success managing staff, vendors, and complex multi-property operations
• Exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities
• Absolute discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism
• High level of technical competence, including digital systems, shared calendars, organizational platforms, and basic smart-home troubleshooting
• Calm, adaptable, and polished demeanor suited to a dynamic private household environment
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; proximity to Locust Valley strongly preferred
• Flexibility to work extended or non-traditional hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, and high-demand periods based on family schedule and seasonality

Compensation & Benefits

• 150-200K annual salary or commensurate with experience
• Healthcare or healthcare stipend
• Paid time off and benefits consistent with a long-term, senior-level private household role
