Fourblue are working with a leading contractor delivering essential energy projects across transmission, distribution, renewables, EV, and decarbonisation. They’re seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join their team and help deliver complex, high-voltage substation projects.

Responsibilities of the Senior Design Engineer:

• Design substations up to 400kV, meeting client requirements, budgets, and timelines
• Support tendering, contract preparation, and technical drawings
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
• Visit sites regularly to stay connected with operations
• Mentor and train junior engineers and CAD technicians
• Participate in design reviews and help enhance standards and processes
• Uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards

Criteria for the Senior Design Engineer:

• Degree or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience in power transmission and substation design
• Strong knowledge of UK design standards, National Grid requirements, and earthing up to 400kV
• Skilled in 2D CAD software (Autodesk preferred) and adaptable to new engineering tools
• Bonus: MSc, chartership, or expertise in CDEGS, AutoCAD, and power system analysis
