We are looking for a SHEQ Officer to join a growing and innovative utilities and infrastructure business. The role is key in ensuring that health, safety, environmental, and quality standards are implemented and maintained across the business and on-site projects. This includes providing advice, conducting audits, reviewing risk assessments, and supporting project teams to operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legislation and company policies.
Responsibilities of the SHEQ Officer:
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and safety tours to monitor compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
- Produce, review, and maintain risk assessments, Safe Work Procedures, and CDM documentation, including Construction Phase Plans where required
- Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), providing formal reporting and recommendations
- Advise and support project teams on health, safety, environmental, and quality matters to achieve project and operational goals
- Ensure contractor safety management systems are in place, implemented, and monitored
- Promote environmental awareness and compliance among employees, subcontractors, and site visitors
- Coordinate the competence and authorisation process in line with regulatory and audit expectations
Criteria of the SHEQ Officer: - NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- Proven experience implementing Health and Safety in industrial, utilities, or construction environments
- Knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015 and practical application on projects
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
